The

It's
August 2000 and the first ever Sydney Probe meet is about to happen.
Call me crazy but I just had to be there and pretty soon I found
one other Prober just as crazy as me.
Jerry
and I met up at the headquarters of all things Ford here in Australia
to begin our road trip of over 900 km from Melbourne to Sydney.
Here
we go away on the Hume and heading north. It didn't take long for
the boredom to set in, so out with the camera it is.
We
got to Sydney in about 10 hours of driving, stopping along the way
in Albury on the Victoria/New South Wales border for a meal and to
get the blood flowing again. We still had at least another 6 hours
of driving ahead. Driving into Sydney on a busy Saturday night on
unfamiliar roads was a nightmare. After getting lost a couple of times
we made it to the hotel and put the cars to rest in the secure car
park.
The
meet
Sunday
morning and wouldn't you know it, we got lost again. A couple of phone
calls later and we get to meet up in Paramatta Park.
Jerry
and Ron discuss Probe engine issues and Paul and Andrew get to know
each other. Paul (with the green top and cap) would have to be the
most senior member of a Probe club anywhere.
At
on end of the park we spotted this curious sight. These Roman soldiers
were just a little bit lost and behind schedule.
Time
now to move on to a different part of the park so we line up the Probes
and off we go.
Another
location and more discussion.
And.....more
discussion.
These
pics speak for themselves.
The
trip home
On
the way back we just had to stop and look at this....sight. Inland
Australia is the last place you would expect to see a submarine partially
submerged into the ground.
