Another Probe Painted - What are you waiting for FoMoCo US?

Ford has painted yet another Probe. Once again, Ford Australia has stood up and admitted fault. The question now is WHEN will Ford US give something back to it's once loyal customers. Ford US knows about the fault, they know that cars in Australia are being repainted (they are ultimately paying for these re-paints), but still no action. Will these Probe/MX6 owners ever buy another Ford product again? Will they instead buy an import?

As has been proven to several Aussie Probers, Ford Australia are willing to look at each case individually and make a decision as to any warranty claim. Ford staff members have admitted to up to at least 10 Probes in Melbourne Australia having been repainted under Ford's five year corrosion warranty. One car on this list has had a full "back to metal" re-spray at the same time as another was sitting in the same shop for the very same reason. There is also another Aussie Prober in the process of having his car (or part of it anyhow) repainted in January/February 2001. These very same sources however have also said that Ford US are a LOT harder to get a re-spray out of. The only re-spray to my knowledge outside of Australia has happened in Hawaii.

For anyone that can use a search engine, do a quick search for law suits/class actions against motor companies in regards to paint and you'll be surprised at what can be achieved.
